About
HBCU Horizon gives students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities a single place to connect with mentors, manage their academic schedule, and stay on top of campus life. The app lets students scan and attach syllabi, plan and schedule school activities, access recordings of events and mentoring sessions, and apply for scholarships, all from their phone. Howard University is the first institution onboarded onto the platform.

What I Learned
This project pushed me into some genuinely new territory. I trained, hosted, and ran custom models on Azure to handle document processing, and built a custom Flutter SDK to support integration with Azure Document Intelligence, something that didn't exist out of the box. I also went deep on Sendbird, learning how to integrate and customize a full chat system from the ground up. Building this gave me a solid understanding of how HBCU institutions operate and what their students actually need day-to-day.
